FSX Oceana FCLP add-on now vLSO compatible

I'm happy to share my vLSO integration pack for uchi's NAS Oceana scenery.

Please download the pack from the sidebar and read the included readme file prior to unzipping.

Happy bouncing!

  1. Paddles,

With Uchi's scenery and modified to be vLSO compatible, as one taxi's past 05R and just before entering 05L for line-up, the vLSO calls out "WOP". This is when the airplane is on ground.

Have replicated this on three different sorties now.

Haven't yet tested on other runways.

  2. Also, can you advice as to which lighting scalar controls the intensity of the IFLOLS trailer, including the ball. On my triple screen setup, the lights are not "sharp" but are fuzzy.

    Thanks.

  3. Thanks for the bug report. I'll check my program and fix the problem.
As for the IFLOLS lights intensity I'd suggest you try my Halo.bmp replacement (you can download it from the sidebar)

  4. Thanks Serge,

Is that Halo.BMP the same (or similar) as the one that came with "Dante's Halo Fix"? Because, I'm already using Dante's fix, and the meatball on the boat appears correct with that fix.

  5. No, it isn't. This texture was developed specifically for use with the Mk14 trailer.

  6. Just a FYI Serge,

The Halo.bmp file for Mk14 trailer worsened the fuzziness of the night lights, including the runway/taxi lights, meatball on the boat and the Mk-14 trailer.

When I compare the textures of Mk-14 Halo with Dante's Halo, I see that Dante's version has MUCH smaller/thinner light textures (said in layman's language :) ), and they work nicely for me EXCEPT for the Mk-14 trailer.

Reverting back to original Halo and will also probably need to tweak the lighting scalars a bit again.

  7. Oh, I see. This bmp worked just fine for me and Spaz when working on early Mk14 versions some years back (no scalars tweaked, as I recall).
Of course, it's just an option and your mileage may vary. Thanks for the info!

  8. Further update.

I had to progressively tweak the "RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR" way down to 0.40, and it's a lot better now.

Just thought I'll let you know.

PS: I also notice that the same VASI light scalar works for BOTH the 'ball' lights, i.e. Meatball on the boat and the ball of Mk-14 IFLOLS.

Cheers. Thanks for regularly updating the the package. Can't imagine flying without vLSO ever.
